Joni Faris Vizcarrondo is a South Dakota native who has lived abroad but is a Dakotan at heart. She was born in the state’s capital of Pierre and completed her primary and secondary education in Sioux Falls. She hails from a family of farmers, teachers, and military commanders. Joni graduated from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri with a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts and a Minor Degree from the John M. Olin School of Business.
Joni has lived in Puerto Rico, and Geneva Switzerland and has traveled extensively. She has worked as an entrepreneur and has also been employed by a large global corporate company, Procter& Gamble. In all her positions, she has enjoyed working with teams of people and putting her strong creative skills to task. The exposure to Hispanic and European cultures has enriched her with a global perspective, but also has highlighted the need to protect regional strengths. She is a very strong woman; a mother of six children who have equally shared in her love of travel and languages.
Joni is an artist, a businesswoman, a mother, and an eager wisdom seeker. After years abroad, she is grateful to be back to South Dakota, where her heart calls home.​
